A Terrace with The Best View.
The Eastern terrace is an exercise in total simplicity. Although simple in its visual effect, the construction of The Eastern Terrace involved quite ambitious earthworks undertaken by Government conservation and land management specialists in 1994.
The primary function of The Eastern Terrace is to provide a link between the Big House and The Horse Paddock, leading on to the second smaller residence in The Nuttery. Edged by a buxus hedge above a bank of lavenders and santolina and backed by a steep bank where native grasses, primarily Kangaroo Grass, are allowed to grow undisturbed, The Eastern Terrace offers a magnificent view. Here the view is the star and any complexity of landscaping would only detract from that.
Seating will be added to The Eastern Terrace , providing a resting point, and a place to enjoy the view as one pauses from exploration of the gardens.
